The happy chicken report

How happy are your chickens? We found out through our happy chicken test. And what did we find out?
Recently, we surveyed our Welcome Home Nature club members about their chickens. Using 10 questions, we found out to what extent their chickens lived a happy life in the garden.

The results show that the chickens can be quite happy with their owners. Indeed, the Welcome Home Nature members achieved a nice average score of 77.1% on their happy chicken report.

The essential needs of laying feed and water are sufficiently provided in the majority of our chicken runs. With 82.7% and 85.9% respectively, they achieve high scores. On top of that, our chickens also regularly get food scraps on the menu. As many as 96.7% of respondents use their chickens as scraps processors.

Dietary supplements such as grit and vitamins, like snacks, score lower than basic feed mixtures. Still, some 70% of our chickens enjoy additional food and grit.

Coop maintenance (78.4%) usually gets sufficient attention. This ensures that most chickens (72.5%) generally never suffer from blood lice. In terms of space, the score is lower (60.3%). But of course, you can just let your chickens run outside the run. As many as 72.5% of our chickens occasionally get the freedom and so their owners can enjoy some extra tasty free-range eggs.
